Working with the feedback I received the week before (as discussed here), I decided to change up my infographic and add another one to the mix.
I started by showing the monthly income with the total monthly benefits a family of 1 to 8 persons receives. It was suggested that I divide the total monthly benefits with the amount of persons in a household and get the actual number each person receives for food stamps.
After completing that, I decided to illustrate what items are eligible and ineligible for purchase with food stamps. I used vector clip art that I found online, and made some of my own when I was unable to find some suitable ones. It's fascinating what you can get with food stamps.

To take my research one step further, I decided to head next door to the corner store and ask the owner (who
spoke zero English - my colleague had to speak to him in Spanish) about
the purchasing habits of the neighbourhood. He mentioned that not many
people use the benefits at his store because they usually do so at the
grocery store, but when they do, it's mostly for sodas and snacks. And we wonder why there's an obesity problem.
